General Pool and Concrete Works, a new Pool Builder & Concrete Specialty Company. General Pool and Concrete Works was founded by Gabriel Ortega of Porterville. Gabriel is the son of Manuel C. Ortega, Owner and founder of Fantasy Pools & Spas, a family business which closed its doors in the fall of 2007 when the Ortega family was devastated by Manuel's diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease.

General Pool and Concrete Works specializes in patio design, stamped & specialty concrete works, flatwork, sidewalks, curbing, pool decks and swimming pool construction & redesigns.

Gabriel was born & raised in Porterville, began working with his father on pools when he was just a teen. With over 24 yrs of experience behind him, Gabriel is now offering his services to the Porterville area. "This is a great way for me to continue the work Dad loved and do what I love" says Ortega, "I feel like this is a way I can honor Dad and share all the things that he taught me, attention to detail, pride, dependability, to be a good, honest person, and what better place to do that than Porterville, my home"
